Disease PAIN IN RIGHT HYPOCHONDRIUM

Treatment Evaluate the patient on the following lines: Is the pain related to food? If it is relieved by food. It is most likely a duodenal ulcer. If there is tenderness under the costal margin on deep inspiration, think of chronic cholecystits. If liver is palpable and tender, look for jaundice (infective hepatitis), intercostals tenderness (amoebic hepatitis) and signs of CC.F i.e breathlessness, urmur, neck vein engorgement, and edema. If gall bladder is palpable with or without jaundice, refer to a surgeon for investigations. Treatment of Duodenal Ulcer, Infective Hepatitis and C.C.F is discussed elsewhere.
